Pelsis are proud to support charity project in Kenya

Pelsis were proud to support teachers and staff from Bingley Grammar School, West Yorkshire, on their latest trip to the Kibera Kids Club and a number of partner schools in Nairobi, Kenya with donations of first aid kits and pest control supplies.

The UK school first started working with Jamhuri High School in Nairobi in 2011, and has since extended their project to Ngara Girls High School and Hospital Hill Primary School, helping to raise standards and provide support to a growing cluster of schools. The team have also developed strong links with the Kibera Kids Club, a charity who aim to provide access to education for some of Kenya’s poorest children, based in the Kibera Slum in Nairobi.

Building on the success of previous years, which has seen the dedicated team at Bingley Grammar donate sports kits and football boots, this year saw the team distribute first aid kits and a wide range of pest control products alongside balance bikes and other supplies.

Pelsis’ donation of first aid kits was well received, with most schools having no provision for injuries, as the teachers had discovered during a previous trip. The range of rodent control products was particularly welcomed, with the facilities looking to protect teaching and dormitory areas from rodents, an ongoing issue due to their location in one of the largest urban slums in Africa.

Claire Larcombe, Marketing Manager at Pelsis said “We are extremely pleased that we have been able to support the fantastic work of the Bingley Grammar School team, and are proud that the products that we have been able to donate will make such a difference to the lives of the children and volunteers.”
